elephant ride

When I was part of a Milwaukee-based law firm, PJ and I went to Milwaukee twice a year for partner meetings.  This was surprisingly enjoyable.

In 1992, we included the Milwaukee jaunt into our Midwest family visits.  There is a small town in Milwaukee (Baraboo) that apparently was important to the circus business (as discussed here).    Our visit to Milwaukee coincided with a summertime circus parade - a big festival in Milwaukee, I think they ran the circus wagons all the way from Baraboo in some sort of ritual.

Anyway:  that's why N, C, K, P and P are riding an elephant in this photo.  In Milwaukee.  Exactly 20 years ago now.  I like PJ's photo - it picks up the flag atop the circus tent.
